Position: Landscape Architect

Position Description:

Under general supervision of a Team Leader, and direct supervision of a Senior Landscape Architect, a Project Landscape Architect is responsible for landscape architectural design tasks, including plan preparation and review, quantity take-offs, estimations of probable cost, technical specification writing, inspections, and other tasks as may be required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, project management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams working in a fast-paced environment.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited college or university.

Candidate should be licensure tract or hold a Professional Landscape Architecture License in the State of Missouri.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Research design options codes and regulations applicable to the project and provide schematic level and preliminary designs while working closely with other team members.

Provide detailed final designs and produce mark-ups to incorporate in drawings.

Perform site inventory, analysis, detailed calculations and design.

Produce technical reports and plans.

May serve as a designated client contact on some projects .

Perform quantity take-offs and prepare estimation of probable costs for projects.

Coordinate directly with land surveyors on project surveying.

Coordinate directly with CAD designers’ activities .

Coordinate work with outside consultants.

Utilize AutoCAD and/or Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and other design software to prepare design documents, basic drawings, and renderings.

Perform field activities during design and/or construction such as observe and record existing field conditions, take and verify measurements within project area as necessary.

Prepare construction specifications for various types of projects.

Review shop drawings and material certifications.

Speak to groups and present project details and facilitate public meetings for input.
